Kebbi Government Confirms Terrorists’ Raid On Girls’ School

The Kebbi State Government has confirmed a late-night attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School (GGCSS) in Maga, Danko-Wasagu local government area, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area, where terrorists abducted an unverified number of female students.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ahmed Idris, disclosed the incident on Monday, saying details were still being compiled.

The raid reportedly left the school’s vice principal, Malam Hassan Yakubu Makuku, dead, while several others sustained injuries as students fled in panic.

Deputy Governor Umar Tafida has visited the school, accompanied by security operatives and top government officials, to assess the situation and coordinate an immediate response.

Security personnel have since been deployed to track the attackers and secure the area.

The state government urged residents to remain calm as rescue operations intensified. Officials are liaising with families of the abducted students, while medical care is being provided to the injured.

Meanwhile, Governor Nasir Idris has condemned the incident, describing it as a tragic assault on education and public safety.

He assured that security agencies were working around the clock to rescue the students and prevent further attacks in the area.
