The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed deep sorrow over the abduction of 25 students of Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, in Kebbi State, urging security agencies to ensure their immediate and safe rescue.

In a message issued on Tuesday, the First Lady described the incident and the killing of the school’s vice principal as a painful attack on innocent children and dedicated educators.

Mrs Tinubu described the abduction as not only a criminal act but an assault on the values of safety, learning, and community that schools represent.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of the abduction of the 25 students of the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, Kebbi State, and the tragic killing of the Vice Principal,” she said.

She noted that President Bola Tinubu had already directed security agencies to move swiftly to secure the girls’ release and bring those responsible to justice.

According to her, the nation must stand united against any assault on children, especially acts that undermine education and violate the sanctity of schools.

“This heartbreaking incident is not only an attack on innocent girls and dedicated educators, but an assault on the values of safety and learning that schools embody,” she added.

The First Lady extended her prayers and sympathy to the affected families, schoolmates, and the entire community, saying her thoughts were with them during this difficult time.

“My heart and prayers are with the families, friends, loved ones and schoolmates at this time. I pray Almighty God grants quick rescue to the abducted girls, and may the soul of the departed Vice Principal rest in Aljannah Firdaus,” she said.

She further called for collective vigilance and support for ongoing security efforts, stressing that the safety and protection of children must remain a national priority.
