Northern Christian Youths and Leaders Forum (NCYLF) has said the recent killings across the country do not amount to genocide.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to peace, accountability and active political engagement for sustainable peace in the country.
The declaration followed a high-level consultative meeting in Jos, Plateau State, convened by the director general of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Prof Ayo Omotayo, in collaboration with the executive secretary of the Christian Pilgrims Commission Bishop Victor Stephen Adegbite.
Chairman of the Forum, Istifanus Kangpe, in a statement, said the meeting brought together political leaders, clergy, technocrats, youth representatives, and community advocates across Northern Nigeria to deliberate on governance, security, and the role of Christians in shaping the North’s political and social future.
Director general NIPSS, Prof Ayo Omotayo, while addressing participants at the event said it was inspiring to see young Christian leaders taking proactive steps toward peace and governance in the North.
According to him, their commitment reflects the core values of accountability, moral leadership, and civic participation, which are essential for national progress.
