President Muhammadu Buhari’s Establishment Of 6 AMEDI Centres Is On Point – Gambari

The chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, has lauded the executive vice chairman of  the National Agency for Science and Engineering Institute (NASENI),Professor Mohammed Sani Haruna, for the speedy construction of the Northcentral state office of NASENI in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

Professor Ibrahim Gambari stated this at the permanent site during an inspection visit  to new site of the Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Development Institute (AMEDI), sited in Lafia as one among the six (6) approved by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2021, not only to guarantee  food security, but to apply modern tools and equipment  for mechanised agriculture  and technology for food processing,preservation and application of food availability and artificial intelligence for efficient and multicrop seasons.

Gambari said the president accords topmost impetus to agriculture as the mainstay of his administration, stating further that a lot has been achieved in the area of food security in the last seven and half years of the incumbent reign of Mr president through the creation of superlative initiative.

Haruna in his remarks,opined that President Buhari has approved the location of these  specialised institution, one each per political zone of the country, he accordingly, maintained that the site in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital  is for  Northcentral states, while other states represent each zone, e.g

Adamawa State for Northeast, Kebbi State for Northwest, Cross river for South-south and Imo State for Southeast and Osun State for Southwest respectively.

The executive vice chairman buttressed that the location of NASENI in Lafia, was as a result of the timely request by  Engineer Abdullahi Sule to President Muhammad Buhari, and the support and facilitation of Ambassador  Gambari, the chief of staff to the president.

The government of Nasarawa State and Lafia emirate council, has given us multiple option of lands to select from to site the institute and we settled for the current location.

“Your Excellency, the [COS]may recall that the foundation laying ceremony was performed on your behalf on 1st August 2022, for the construction work and this is level of work in three months duration.”
