The executive secretary of the National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC), Dr Iyela Ajayi, has urged the management and staff of the commission to uphold the highest standards of integrity and transparency in the discharge of their duties.

Ajayi made the call at a one-day workshop for management staff of the Commission, held recently in Abuja.

According to a press statement by Fatima Ahmed Bappare Head, Public Relations of the commission, Ajayi stressed that the fight against corruption has become more critical than ever.

He noted that it is not merely a legal or ethical responsibility but a fundamental pillar of effective governance, sustainable development, and public trust.

According to him, every action taken and every decision made must contribute to building an environment where accountability thrives and malpractice has no space to take root, adding that only a collective commitment to ethical conduct would enable the Commission to function as intended and serve the public effectively.

In her welcome remarks, the Head of Reform, Mrs Mary Okwori, urged management and staff to make NSSEC a model institution where resources are judiciously deployed, standards are rigorously upheld, and no staff member compromises the values of the Commission.

She emphasised that achieving this vision requires discipline, transparency, and an unwavering dedication to doing the right thing at all times.

The resource person, Mr Olushegun Adigun, Director of the System Study Review Department of the ICPC, was represented by the Deputy Director of the System Review Department, ICPC, Hajia Musa Mutiat, who called on management to lead with integrity.

She noted that leadership rooted in honesty would provide a clear example for others to follow, helping to cultivate a culture of transparency and accountability within the Commission.
