Qur’anic School Pupil Stabbed To Death In Kebbi

People of Illelar Yari( Old Prison) area in Birnin Kebbi local government of Kebbi State woke up in the early hours of Monday with the shocking news of the death of a Qur’anic pupil in Hisbulrahim Talami’a Sheik Ibrahim Qur’anic School behind old Prison in Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi State.

Our reporter who rushed to the school on Monday morning spoke with the father of the deceased, Hassan Abubakar Guraguri before the commencement of the funeral prayer of the deceased.

According to him, his son, Salihu Hassan, 14 years old, was stabbed to death around 6.00 am in the morning on Monday by one Jame Jidda, 22 years old, who resides behind the deceased school.

He said, ” Jume Jidda called my son, Salisu Hassan from the School in pretence to send him but took him to a hideout near the school and stabbed him with a sharp knife severally on his neck and left him lying in his pool of blood.”

“Around 7.00 am we received the sad news from other pupils in the school that his corpse was seeing behind the school and rushed to the scene and conveyed his body to Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital where the doctors confirmed that he was killed by an object, ” the deceased father added.

Malam Hassan Guraguri further disclosed that the deceased body was taken back to the school where the funeral prayer was performed by Imam Muhammadu Nagujiya and was laid to rest at Birnin Kebbi main cemetery with thousands of sympathisers who came from different parts of Kebbi State in attendance.

Spokesman of the Kebbi State Police, CPS, Nafi’u Abubakar has confirmed the tragic incident in a statement issued to journalists on Monday in Birnin Kebbi.

CSP Abubakar added that the suspect, Jame Jidda has already been arrested by the police of Birnin Kebbi division while investigation continues.
