The director-general of the Atum Humanitarian, Anti-Corruption and Charitable Initiative, (AHACCI), Hon. Ismaila Yusuf Atus, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration will overcome terrorism, banditry, and other security challenges confronting the nation.

Atus, who spoke during a media interaction in Abuja yesterday, said the security situation deteriorated under previous administrations but noted that Tinubu has demonstrated the political will and commitment needed to restore stability.

He recalled that under late former President Muhammadu Buhari, insecurity escalated, with frequent kidnappings, attacks, and other forms of violent crime affecting communities across the country.

“We all know what happened in this country. There were several cases of kidnapping and many other issues. But under President Tinubu, I am optimistic things will improve. He is doing everything possible to fix the country,” Atus said.

Calling for patience and continued support for the President, he urged Nigerians not to lose faith in the administration’s efforts.

“We should give him more time. That is why we are asking for his re-election for a second term. With this, Nigeria will be better and more grateful,” he added.

Atus also commended the President’s interventions in humanitarian sectors, noting that Tinubu’s policies are aimed at improving the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians, creating job opportunities, and reducing hardship.

“He is taking care of a lot of vulnerable Nigerians, the old, the young and working to create jobs. When the country is peaceful, opportunities will increase, and hardship will reduce,” he said.

He urged citizens to support the President as he continues to steer the nation through difficult reforms.

Atus also highlighted Tinubu’s record as former Governor of Lagos State, noting that his leadership transformed the state from insecurity to stability through initiatives such as Operation Sweep and the establishment of anti-corruption agencies.

“If you knew Lagos before Tinubu took over, you would understand the transformation. At one point, you could not walk freely. But Lagos became safe and prosperous under his leadership. The same idea will make Nigeria grow,” he stated.

He concluded by praying for long life for all Nigerians to witness what he believes will be a positive turnaround under Tinubu.

“He is putting all his energy into building the country. We will support him for a second-term re-election so that the progress can continue,” he said.
