Elder statesman, renowned philanthropist and business magnate, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, has revealed plans to usher in a new wave of private investment in Borno State.
Indimi spoke yesterday during a visit led by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum to his residence in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The visit was to express gratitude for Indimi’s generous N2 billion donation to the University of Maiduguri, which he announced last weekend.
During their talks, Indimi said he had been actively engaging with a network of domestic and international investors, many of whom are ready to explore opportunities in the state.
He said, “Your Excellency, I am very deeply touched by this honour from Borno. I did everything because I love my state. Your Excellency, you are doing a great job. Even yesterday, I received guests from Switzerland and I am so proud because right now, Maiduguri is one of the beautiful cities in Nigeria.
“We are ready to support. Already, I have so many people who want to come and invest.
Soon, you will start seeing people coming to you at the Government House,” he said.
The governor commended Indimi for his unwavering and transformative support for the education sector, not only in Borno, but across Nigeria.
The delegation comprised the Waziri of Borno, Mutawali Shettima Bukar; the Chief Imam of Borno, Zanna Laisu Ibrahim; the secretary of Borno Elders Forum, Dr Bulama Mali Gubio; the vice chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Prof. Laminu Mele and other principal officers of the school.
