All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified its mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2026 and 2027 elections, with focus on reclaiming Osun and Oyo States from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The party’s national secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, who spoke in Ibadan, declared that the ruling party had mapped out strategic plans to take control of states currently under the leadership of the PDP.
He added that internal political alignments and defections would significantly reshape the political landscape before 2027.
Basiru said the ruling party had already strengthened its presence across key geopolitical zones, including the South-South, South-East, North-Central and North-East.
Focusing on the Southwest, Basiru emphasised that both Oyo and Osun were central to the APC’s 2027 strategy.
He noted that the party was executing internal plans aimed at dislodging governors Seyi Makinde in Oyo State and Ademola Adeleke in Osun State.
According to him, the APC leadership under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has “redrawn Nigeria’s political map,” positioning the party to reclaim territories previously lost to the opposition.
Basiru stated that the political climate in Oyo State was being closely monitored.
The unfolding dynamics in Oyo and Osun have further sharpened the political rivalry between the APC and PDP as both parties prepare for the battles ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
