To achieve the targeted objectives, the state government has directed all the 16 local government administrations in the state to embark on agro- allied ventures.

The state commissioner for local government, chieftaincy affairs and community development, Hon.  Aliyu Kora-Sabi rolled out the measures in Omu-Aran, Irepodun local government area, during a two-  day seminar tagged, “Towards Government Revenue Enhancement, Poverty, Poverty Alleviation and Food Security”.

Kora – Sabi said, “Since we are all aware that local government is the closest tier of government to the people, there is, therefore, the need for a well-structured administration that would help in bringing about all-round development to the grassroots.

“As regards the provision of basic amenities for the people, through available resources, by involving them in agricultural enterprises, that would effectively drive revenue generation through the participation of agro-allied businesses is imperative,” he added.

He expressed optimism  that at the end of the seminar, participants would have been exposed to the modern techniques of agriculture in the areas of production, marketing, finance and most importantly the entrepreneurial aspect of farming, which would be further domesticated and put to practice across the various councils in the state.
