Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed yesterday said the state government would engage the services of 5, 669 out of the 10, 000 applicants earlier promised while the rest would be employed next year.
Speaking during the stakeholders’ engagement with commissioners, local government chairmen, party leaders, head of service, heads of agencies and MDAs among others, the governor said the meeting was to ensure inclusiveness, fairness, justice and broad participation.
He said, “The advert has generated a lot of interest and I don’t know how to navigate this. I seek your resourcefulness, I must get your contributions so that together we can do it. There must be justice and equity, not just to allocate everything for political expediency.”
Governor Bala observed that there are applicants who are very intelligent and graduated from various institutions of learning, but we’re not opportune to reach any commissioner or himself.
He assured that the meeting was to produce a transparent, just and equitable recruitment framework that would stand the test of time.
