TikTok content creator and livestreamer, Hamzat Habeeb, popularly known as Peller, has sparked widespread concern after crashing his car during a disturbing Instagram livestream on the Lekki–Epe Expressway in Lagos on Sunday.

The broadcast, which he titled “RIP Peller,” showed the visibly emotional influencer driving alone in his newly acquired Mercedes Benz car, speaking in distress about his relationship with his girlfriend, Jarvis.

At various moments in the video, now widely circulated on social media, Peller broke down in tears while apparently speaking to Jarvis over the phone. He made several alarming statements suggesting he was contemplating suicide.

“I will use this car and have an accident right now,” he said at one point.

Moments later, he added, “If you break up with me, people will be mocking me, they will be mocking me, they will be mocking me… Thank you, I’m going to kill myself.”

In another moment, he muttered repeatedly, “I’m scared. I’m scared.”

Shortly after making those statements, the video captured him veering off course and ramming the vehicle into a stone, resulting in a violent crash.

Bystanders at the scene were later seen assisting the influencer, who appeared injured but conscious. He was reportedly taken to a hospital, though the extent of his injuries was yet to be confirmed.

Photos and clips shared online showed the Mercedes-Benz badly damaged, its front completely wrecked from the impact.

The incident has since ignited a wave of reactions across social media platforms, with many users expressing shock, concern, and anger over Peller’s conduct.

While some suggested the act might have been staged for content, others condemned it as reckless and potentially life-threatening behaviour that endangered both himself and other road users.

Netizens urged the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and relevant authorities to investigate the incident, describing it as a dangerous precedent for impressionable online audiences.
