Federation Account Committee Shares N1.928trn To 3 Tiers Of Govt For December

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a total sum of N1.928 trillion to the Federal Government, state governments and local government areas as November 2025 Federation Account revenue.

The revenue was distributed at the December 2025 FAAC meeting held in Abuja, according to a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation.

The N1.928 trillion total distributable revenue comprised N1.403 trillion as distributable statutory revenue, N485.838 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT) and N39.646 billion generated from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).

The communiqué disclosed that a total gross revenue of N2.343 trillion was available in November 2025. From this amount, N84.251 billion was deducted as cost of collection, while N330.625 billion was set aside for transfers, interventions, refunds and savings.

According to FAAC, gross statutory revenue for the month stood at N1.736 trillion, representing a decline of N427.969 billion compared to the N2.164 trillion recorded in October 2025. Similarly, gross VAT revenue dropped to N563.042 billion in November from N719.827 billion in October, a decrease of N156.785 billion.

From the total distributable revenue of N1.928 trillion, the federal government received N747.159 billion, state governments received N601.731 billion, while local government councils received N445.266 billion. In addition, N134.355 billion, representing 13 per cent of mineral revenue, was shared to the benefiting states as derivation revenue.

A breakdown of the statutory revenue allocation showed that from the N1.403 trillion distributable amount, the Federal Government received N668.336 billion, the states got N338.989 billion, and the local government councils received N261.346 billion. The sum of N134.355 billion was also shared to the benefiting states as derivation revenue.

From the N485.838 billion VAT pool, the Federal Government received N72.876 billion, state governments got N242.919 billion, while local government councils received N170.043 billion.

The distribution of the N39.646 billion EMTL revenue showed that the Federal Government received N5.947 billion, state governments got N19.823 billion, and local government councils received N13.876 billion.

FAAC noted that during the month under review, Excise Duty recorded a moderate increase, while Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Hydrocarbon Tax (HT), Companies Income Tax (CIT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Stamp Duties, oil and gas royalties, import duty, CET levies, VAT, EMTL and other fees witnessed substantial declines.
