Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has terminated the appointments of all his special advisers, as he held an inaugural State Executive Council meeting with his newly sworn-in commissioners.
Bago, who announced this yesterday during the council meeting at the council chamber of Government House, Minna, stated that the dissolution of the special advisers’ appointments was aimed at restructuring governance.
A statement by the chief press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, said the termination of their appointment was to allow him to reorganise and reposition their portfolios to make them more effective and efficient in line with his New Niger agenda.
The governor appreciated them for their sacrifices and contributions towards the success of his administration and also wished them well in their future endeavours.
It will be recalled that two months ago, the governor dissolved the state cabinet, retained and appointed new commissioners last month.
He swore in 30 commissioners, retaining most and transferring some to another ministry, and appointed a few special advisers as commissioners.
