JUST-IN: FCT Court Retains Ngige’s EFCC Bail, Demands Senior Servant Surety

The Federal Capital Territory High Court in Gwarinpa, Abuja, on Thursday, allowed former Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, to remain on the administrative bail earlier granted to him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Justice Maryam Hassan gave the ruling while considering a bail application filed on Ngige’s behalf by his lead counsel, Patrick Ikwueto (SAN).

In her decision, the judge ordered the former minister to present a surety who must be a serving director in the Federal Government and the owner of a landed property.

Justice Hassan further directed that the surety should deposit the title documents of the property, along with his travel documents, with the court until Ngige retrieves his international passport.

Ngige had earlier been granted bail by the EFCC on self-recognition, with a directive to submit his travel documents to the commission and provide one surety.
