President Bola Tinubu, on Saturday, inaugurated key infrastructure projects in Borno State and later attended the Nikkah and marriage ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former governor of the State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.
The President arrived in Maiduguri at about 12:55 p.m. when his aircraft touched down at the General Muhammadu Buhari International Airport.
He was received by the Borno State governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, alongside Governors Dikko Radda of Katsina State, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, and other senior government officials.
Shortly after his arrival, Tinubu inaugurated the newly constructed airport extension and the VIP wing at the Maiduguri Airport.
The facilities were designed to strengthen air transport operations in the state and enhance passenger handling and security.
Officials said the projects formed part of broader efforts by the Borno State Government to modernise critical infrastructure and improve connectivity, particularly as the state continued its recovery from years of insurgency.
The president also commissioned some electric vehicles, tricycles and also three schools, including a secondary school named after him. The projects were executed by the Borno State Government.
After commissioning the school, President Tinubu attended the Nikkah and marriage ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff and his bride, Hadiza Kam Salem, joining family members, political leaders and dignitaries at the event.
