Thirty years after leaving the classrooms of Government College Bauchi, members of the GOCOBA 95 Alumni set reunited at a celebration that blended nostalgia with renewed purpose. The gathering brought together professionals from across Nigeria, showcasing how far the set has come and how deeply its members remain connected to their alma mater.

The reunion was marked not only by laughter and reconnection but also by purposeful engagements. The old students visited Government College Bauchi (Kangere) and General Hassan Usman Katsina, Bauchi, where they interacted with the school management and pledged their support for its educational growth. The visits underscored their determination to give back to the institutions that shaped their lives.

Among the prominent personalities present was Engr. Bello Babayo Bello, executive director, Networks, Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) and head boy of the 1995 set.

He called on alumni to harness their collective expertise to strengthen infrastructure and mentorship opportunities for students.

Dr Ayuba Zakar, Medical Director of the Yobe State Specialist Hospital, Potiskum, reminded colleagues of the discipline instilled during their school years and urged them to channel their unity into tangible contributions.

CSP Haruna S. Abubakar, 2IC Squadron, Police Mobile Force, Etsako, Edo State, commended his old friends for their achievements and encouraged them to remain steadfast in supporting their alma mater.

Other notable attendees included Rilwanu Shehu, State Operating Officer of the Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC), Gombe State; Engr. Isa Mohammed, Deputy Manager, Engineering Design, NNPC; and Hon. Ali Baba Manu, Member of the Gombe State House of Assembly. Their presence reflected the diverse range of leadership roles that alumni now occupy across various sectors.

Joining virtually, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, Chairman of the ICPC, paid tribute to former Principal Mr Aliyu Kamara, describing him as a disciplined educationist whose legacy continues to inspire.
