Group Offers Free Medical Services To Kaduna Residents

The Arewa Development Support Initiative has provided free medical services to over 100 residents of Unguwar Kanawa and Unguwar Shanu communities in Kaduna North local government area of Kaduna State.

The exercise, held at the Primary Health Care Centre in Unguwar Shanu, targeted vulnerable residents who often face challenges in accessing basic healthcare services.

Speaking during the event, the Kaduna State coordinator of the initiative, Engr. Abdullahi Hussain, said the outreach was meant to complement government efforts in providing quality healthcare to the less privileged citizens.

Hussain noted that the initiative was prompted by growing medical challenges in the communities, stressing that government alone cannot fully meet the healthcare needs of the populace.

He added that the Arewa Development Support Initiative would continue to implement programmes that align with government policies while providing direct relief to communities across Kaduna State and the country.

In her remarks, the officer in charge of Unguwar Shanu Primary Health Care Centre, Hajia Aisha Dauda, described the outreach as timely.

Represented by the administrative officer, Malam Abdullahi, Dauda highlighted that many residents were in urgent need of medical attention, and that such interventions would have a lasting impact on the health of beneficiaries.

She also urged other well-meaning individuals and organisations to invest in similar programmes to support community health.

Mohammed Shittu, a community representative, commended the Arewa Development Support Initiative for the gesture, urging the organisation to sustain the programme.

He noted that humanitarian efforts of this nature attract divine reward and advised beneficiaries to adhere strictly to medical instructions while using the drugs and supplies provided.

One of the beneficiaries, Aisha Tanimu, expressed gratitude to the organisers, describing the initiative as a timely relief from financial hardship. She pledged to follow the medical directives carefully to maintain her health.

The outreach forms part of the initiative’s broader commitment to addressing healthcare gaps in Kaduna State, particularly for underserved communities.

The outreach also featured consultations, distribution of essential drugs, and health education, ensuring that beneficiaries not only receive immediate medical attention but also the knowledge to maintain their well-being.
