Five officers from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have successfully completed the National Institute for Sports (NIS) Basic Coaching Certificate Programme, marking a significant step in enhancing sports development and coaching expertise within the Corps.
The intensive programme, which drew coaches from across Nigeria, provided participants with cutting-edge coaching methodologies and athlete development skills.
According to a press statement signed and made available to journalists by CSC Babawale Afolabi, national public relations officer, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the NSCDC personnel received commendation from the NIS leadership for their exemplary discipline, commitment, and performance throughout the training.
Comrade Philip Shaibu, Director General and CEO of the National Institute for Sports, lauded the NSCDC for its consistent investment in sports and human capacity building, describing the Corps as an organisation with a robust sporting culture.
In response, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, Commandant General of the NSCDC, reiterated the Corps’ commitment to close collaboration with the NIS to cultivate qualified coaches and elevate athletic performance.
This initiative aligns with the Commandant General’s strategic vision, which prioritises personnel capacity building, physical fitness, and overall excellence in service delivery.
