Singer Portable Berates Father Over Alleged Financial Exploitation, Betrayal

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly accused his father of neglect, financial exploitation, and betrayal in a series of explosive statements that have sparked reactions online.

In a viral video, the street-pop artiste alleged that his father failed to play a supportive role in his upbringing.

“My daddy is a ‘Bovita daddy.’ When there is trouble or a police case, my daddy will not be able to go to the police station and help his son, but he can collect the phone numbers of my baby mamas,” Portable said.

The singer claimed that his father’s presence in his life has been more harmful than helpful, insisting that he experienced neglect during his formative years.

“You dey with me, my life dey scatter. My life is better when you are not with me. You don’t take care of me. You didn’t send me to school, and you didn’t pay for me to learn tailoring. You can never inherit me,” he stated.

Portable further accused his father of constantly demanding money from him while allegedly failing to take responsibility for his upbringing.

“I’m not the only son you gave birth to, yet you are always on my neck, collecting money from me. You are just like Mohbad’s father, you are always wearing my shoes and clothes. I will not allow you to do to me what they did to Mohbad,” he said.

“When my mother died, you said it was none of your business. I was the one who buried my mother by myself,” Portable added.

Portable further recounted alleged incidents of financial misconduct while attempting to build a house, claiming that his father offered to supervise the project but ended up inflating costs and taking advantage of him.

“When I wanted to build a house and I told him to handle it, he was always cheating me. Blocks of N300,000 he will call it N900,000,” he alleged.

According to the singer, his father only showed renewed interest in him after his rise to stardom.

“You were in Abuja doing your things, but when I blew, you came to Lagos, you that don’t usually come to Lagos,” he said.

“My daddy that didn’t pay my school fees is now asking me for money to pay his other child’s school fees. Please, leave me alone. I am poisonous; you can’t kill me,” Portable declared.

Portable, who is known for his outspoken and controversial persona, has frequently made headlines for public outbursts and family-related disputes.
