“The Command’s team of Special Intervention Squad intercepted a stolen Toyota Corolla motor vehicle along Hotoro NNPC Roundabout, Kano State, along with a suspect, Mohammad Ismail, 25 years old, of Wuntin Dada Quarters, Bauchi State,” the statement said.

The police added that discreet investigations led to the arrest of four additional suspects identified as Abdullahi Ishaq, 23; Abdullahi Bashir, 24; Nasir Muhammad, 23; and Nuru Muhammad, 25.

According to the press release, “the suspects confessed to stealing the vehicle from Bauchi, and another motor vehicle, a Honda Pilot Jeep, property of Bauchi State Government, which was sent to Plateau State and was also recovered.”

In another incident, the command said police officers attached to Hotoro Division recovered a suspected stolen Toyota Sienna vehicle on January 6, 2026.
