Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old man, identified as Baffa’ji Abba, for alleged sexual abuse of his eight-year-old daughter.
The incident was reported on December 31, 2025, at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Alkaleri by a family member, who alleged an assault on the girl on December 30, 2025.
The command’s police public relations officer, SP Nafiu Habib, in a statement yesterday, said, “On 31/12/2025 at about 1042hrs, one Baffa’ji Muhammed ‘m’ reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Alkaleri, that on 30/12/2025 at about 1830hrs, one Baffa’ji Abba ‘m’ aged 28yrs (same address with the complainant), lured his biological daughter (name withheld) aged eight years into a bathroom and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her through both her vagina and anus for about five times in a single day against her will.”
Habib added that upon receiving the report, detectives led by the divisional police officer (DPO), CSP Kadiri Danjuma, immediately visited the scene.
According to the statement, the victim was promptly taken to the General Hospital in Alkaleri for medical examination and treatment, while the suspect was arrested.
He said during the interrogation, the suspect confessed to the alleged offence.
The PRO said the state commissioner of police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has directed the deputy commissioner of police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the matter.
