The Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, is set to mark his 60th birthday anniversary with a colloquium.
The colloquium, themed: ‘The Future of Democracy in Nigeria’ is scheduled to hold on Saturday, January 10, in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The event will be chaired by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, while former President Goodluck Jonathan will serve as the special guest of honour.
Former INEC chairman, Attahiru Jega, is slated to deliver the keynote address titled “The Future of Democratic Governance in Nigeria: Pathways to National Cohesion, Human Security and Economic Renewal.”
A panel comprising Professor of Political Economy, Pat Utomi, alongside former members of the House of Representatives Usman Bugaje and Nnena Ukeje, will deliberate on Jega’s presentation.
Tambuwal, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, and two-time governor of Sokoto State, said the event offers an opportunity to reflect on his years in public service.
“This milestone has offered a time for reflection — on life’s journey, the privilege of service, and the remarkable individuals whose engagement has shaped my path,” he said.
