The Idogo/Ipaja Community High School Old Students Association (IICHSOSA) in Ogun State has held its maiden reunion and commissioned three blocks of refurbished classrooms at the school.
President of the association, Mr. Muyiwa Adesanya, said the projects were executed through contributions from old students, donors and members in the diaspora, noting that the initiative reflects the alumni’s commitment to the development of the school.
The event was attended by the Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Latifat Bolanle Ajayi; the Onidogo of Idogoland, Oba Saheed Olubiyi; Chief (Hon.) Oluwaseyi Ogunyinka; and Mr. Stephen Oluseyi, among others.
A reunion lecture titled “Celebrating Our Journey – The Power of Alumni Network” was delivered by Mr. Joseph Akoki (FCA), who highlighted the role of alumni networks in institutional growth, mentorship and community development.
Also present were former and serving principals, teachers, current students and members of the host community.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Oyewole Fagboun, welcomed guests and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to sustaining the association’s activities. The vote of thanks was given by the General Secretary and Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee, Mr. Agbede Olayinka.
The association said it would continue to work with stakeholders to improve infrastructure and promote academic excellence at the school.
