Southern Kaduna Patriots for Good Governance has said that the combined leadership of President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, is steadily restoring security and public confidence across the state.
The convener of the group, Edward John Auta, said sustained military operations have weakened bandit and terrorist networks nationwide, leading to the neutralisation of several key commanders and the rescue of thousands of abducted victims.
In a statement on Friday in Kaduna, Auta noted that these efforts are beginning to bring stability to communities that were previously under siege.
He commended Governor Uba Sani’s inclusive approach to governance, saying it has strengthened cooperation between government, security agencies and local communities.
According to him, the creation of the Kaduna Vigilance Service and the recruitment of nearly 10,000 operatives have boosted intelligence gathering and community policing.
Edward Auta who is also a Political Analyst observed that major routes such as the Kaduna–Abuja highway, Chikun and Birnin Gwari corridors, once notorious for kidnappings and attacks, are increasingly becoming safer for travel, farming and commerce.
However, Auta acknowledged that parts of Kajuru, Kachia, Kaura, Sanga and Kauru Local Government Areas are still facing security threats, citing recent reports of attacks and kidnappings raised in a recent petition by Comrade Nasiru Jagaba as condemnable in unequivocal terms.
He noted, however, that it is equally important to acknowledge the current administration’s commitment to securing lives and property, the sacrifices of gallant officers of the Nigerian security forces, and the role of communities themselves, “as local actions can either help prevent or inadvertently worsen insecurity. ”
Auta also pointed to recent successes by security agencies, including the killing of notorious bandit leaders such as Kachalla Dogo Isah, Boderi Isyaku, Kachalla Adamu and Kachalla Tukur Sharme, describing them as major blows to organised crime.
He called on residents to cooperate with security agencies and urged Kaduna and neighbouring states to strengthen regional collaboration against cross-border banditry, adding that, “parts of Kaduna State may continue to experience insecurity so long as neighbouring states fail to demonstrate a commitment to collaboration and regional security efforts.”
He expressed hope that concerned voices across the region, like Nasiru Jagaba, will channel their advocacy toward coordinated regional response.
