A 66-year-old resident of Gaida area in Kano State, Haruna Muhammad Ahmad Yusuf, has paid a courtesy visit to the State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, to commend the Police Command’s efforts in crime-fighting and public safety.

The visit was captured in a video shared on Facebook by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, where the elderly man expressed appreciation for the professionalism and dedication of officers of the Kano State Police Command.

“I have come to commend you and the Commissioner of Police for the good work you are doing,” Haruna said during the visit. “That is why I came from Gaida to present myself to you and tell you that I pray for your continued success. I came to commend your professionalism and how you have helped people.”

Responding, CP Bakori expressed gratitude to the August visitor and other residents of the State for their continued support, particularly through the provision of timely and useful information to security agencies.

“This gratitude is not just for me and the PRO but also for all our gallant officers around Kano State. We are also grateful to you and other Kano residents for the way you always support us with information that aids our investigations,” the Commissioner said.

He added that public appreciation serves as motivation for officers to do more in the discharge of their duties. “We are especially grateful for people like you who come to us to show appreciation. Even God says ‘appreciate me and I will do more for you’. We will continue to redouble our efforts to strengthen security across the state,” he said.

The Police Commissioner also acknowledged the support of the Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his consistent support for the Police Command to ensure operational success even as he futher commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

“We are also grateful to the Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his constant support to this command to ensure success in our operations. We are also grateful for IGP Kayode Egbetokun PhD, NPM, for his support and drive to ensure we engage in community-based policing,” he added.

The Kano State Police Command has continued to intensify crime-fighting strategies, including community engagement and intelligence-led policing, aimed at sustaining peace and security across the state. The Command was widely commended over its recent exploit in crime-fighting when three principal suspects linked to the gruesome murder of a housewife and her six children in Kano were promptly arrested less than 24 hours after committing the dastardly crime.
