The Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC) has commenced a three-day prayer session for members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church who were abducted by bandits during a church service in Kaduna State.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped last Sunday in the Iburu District of Kajuru Local Government Area of the state, following an attack on the community by armed bandits. The incident affected two branches of the church, where some worshippers were adbucted.
Reacting to the incident, the OAIC Regional President, Elder Israel Akinadewo, FCA, PhD, in a statement announced a three-day prayer programme aimed at seeking divine intervention for the safe release of the abducted members.
Akinadewo urged churches under the OAIC to participate in the prayer session from Thursday to Saturday, with a special altar prayer scheduled for Sunday.
“Our God hears prayers, and it is our duty to call upon Him,” he said, citing Jeremiah 33:3.
He called on Christians to stand in the gap for the abducted worshippers, expressing confidence that God would intervene and restore them safely to their families.
