“Our Nigeria Magazine” has nominated Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, others for its “Outstanding Leadership Awards”.
The organisers said the awards were in recognition of their commitment to nation-building.
The Awards are an annual flagship initiative of the magazine, established to honour Nigerians whose exceptional leadership, service and dedication to national development have made measurable impacts in key sectors of the country.
The 2025 awards ceremony is scheduled for January 31, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Abuja.
At a press conference in Abuja yesterday, the chairman of the Editorial Board of Our Nigeria Magazine, Dr A.K. Peters, said, “Over the years, the awards have become a respected platform for promoting excellence, patriotism and positive national values to Nigeria and the world.”
The theme of the event: “Providing a Podium for the Unsung Hero”, he said, underscores the magazine’s mission to spotlight individuals who, through courage, sacrifice and consistency, have contributed to national development and nation-building—often without proportional public recognition.
In line with this vision, the 2025 awards will honour distinguished Nigerians, including General Christopher Musa, the minister of Defence, as Man of the Year 2025 and Siminalayi Fubara, as Governor of the Year 2025.
The red carpet will commence at 5 p.m., with the main event beginning at 6 p.m. The ceremony will gather Nigerians from all walks of life, he said.”
The 2025 Our Nigeria Awards honorees include Siminalayi Fubara – Governor of the Year, Christopher Musa – Man of the Year 2025 and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso – Lifetime Achievement.
