The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the constitution of a 50-member Wise Men and Women Policy and Manifesto Committee, following approval by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

The committee was approved by the National Chairman of the ADC, Senator David Mark, as part of the party’s commitment to developing a credible, people-centred, and forward-looking policy framework for national governance.

Announcing the development on Wednesday, the National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said the committee brings together some of Nigeria’s most experienced minds from diverse backgrounds, including former public office holders, academics, technocrats, policy experts, civil society leaders, and professionals.

According to Abdullahi, members of the committee possessed extensive experience across critical sectors such as governance, economic management, social development, security, and democratic reform, positioning the party to offer practical and people-focused solutions to Nigeria’s challenges.

He disclosed that the committee will be chaired by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, with Professor Pat Utomi serving as deputy chairman, while Salihu Lukman will act as Secretary.

Abdullahi explained that the Policy and Manifesto Committee has been mandated to articulate a clear, coherent, and credible policy direction that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians and firmly positions the ADC as a serious alternative platform for responsible leadership and national renewal.

He further announced that the formal inauguration of the committee has been scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, at 12 noon, at the Conference Hall of the ADC National Secretariat, Abuja.

Reaffirming the party’s belief in inclusive and competence-driven governance, Abdullahi noted that Nigeria’s complex challenges require ideas rooted in integrity, expertise, and broad national consensus.

He expressed confidence that the committee will deliver a manifesto that speaks directly to the real needs and expectations of Nigerians.

He urged all concerned members and relevant stakeholders to take note.
