The Kano State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged purchase of a luxury vehicle using a fake credit alert of N75m

The suspects identified as Ibrahim Tijjani, Jamilu Auwal and Mohammed Nura Dauda, were arrested on January 28, 2026, at Kabuga Quarters in Kano by operatives of the Command’s Special Intervention Squad (SIS), following a tip-off, the police said.

According to a press release issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspects allegedly bought a white Mercedes Benz GLE using a fake payment alert.

“The suspects allegedly bought the vehicle from Gwarinpa, Abuja, for seventy-five million naira (₦75,000,000) using a fake alert sent by one Ibrahim Yahaya, who is currently at large,” the statement said.

The police said the vehicle has been recovered and handed over to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command for further investigation, while efforts were ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect.
