In line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR), APM Terminals Apapa has donated critical medical equipment to the Ojora Olugbode Primary Health Centre in Apapa-Iganmu, Lagos State.

The public healthcare facility serving residents across the Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area received an autoclave, an oxygen concentrator, a refrigerator, and hematocrit analysers. The equipment is expected to enhance laboratory diagnostics and improve healthcare delivery for pregnant women, children, and other community members.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the chief executive officer of APM Terminals Nigeria, Frederik Klinke, said the initiative underscores the company’s long-standing commitment to the well-being of its host communities.

“At APM Terminals, we believe that thriving communities are essential to sustainable business. This donation reflects our commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery in areas where we operate,” Klinke said.

He added that the company would also monitor the equipment’s utilisation to ensure it delivers real impact and improves healthcare outcomes.

Klinke noted that APM Terminals’ CSR initiatives extend beyond healthcare, covering education, women’s empowerment, and environmental sustainability through solar-powered installations across Apapa.

“As a global organisation with a deep heritage of service, our responsibility goes beyond terminal operations. Through sustained investments, job creation, capacity building, and environmental stewardship, we remain committed to supporting Nigeria’s socio-economic development,” he said.

Medical Adviser to APM Terminals Nigeria, Dr Layi Ogunjobi, said the company had consistently supported the Ojora Olugbode Primary Health Centre through infrastructural upgrades and equipment donations.

“The laboratory diagnostic equipment donated will ensure that pregnant women, children, and community members receive reliable and efficient medical services in a quality-assured environment,” he said.

The chief financial officer of APM Terminals Nigeria and the acting managing director of APM Terminals Apapa, Courage Obadagbonyi, described the relationship between the terminal and the host community as a long-term partnership.

“This is a symbiotic relationship. We are here for the long term and will continue to support the community; that is who we are,” he said.

Chairman of the Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area, Honourable Jimoh Olawale, commended APM Terminals Apapa for its consistent support and appealed for further assistance to other schools and health facilities in the area.

“I have secured land for a general hospital and am seeking partners. We ask for your continued support,” Olawale said.

The donation further reinforces APM Terminals Apapa’s reputation as not only a key player in Nigeria’s maritime sector but also a dependable partner in advancing healthcare and social development within its host communities.
