‘Vagabonds In PDP Have Been Expelled Since November 2025’, Says Makinde

Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, has taken a swipe at those he described as “vagabonds” within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring that such elements have been expelled from the party since last year.

Makinde made the remark on Tuesday during the official unveiling of the new Oyo State PDP Secretariat in Ibadan, the state capital.

In his words, “If you see a house or a compound that is peaceful, the vagabond in that house has not grown up. The vagabond in PDP grew up in 2015, had their time, and for 10 years they practised their ‘vagabondry’. But they have been expelled in November 2025, so no more vagabond in PDP.”

Switching to Yoruba language, Makinde further threw a jab apparently directed at former Rivers State governor, and minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, questioning his contribution to the PDP both at the state and national levels.

He said, “And then he will say he has interest in Oyo PDP, he has interest in PDP at the national level, please help me ask that person what he has done for PDP in Rivers State that he came from.”

Makinde’s comments came amid renewed tensions within the PDP, as the party sought to reposition itself ahead of the 2027 general election.
