A pressure group, the Elite Society for Better Nigeria, has urged President Bola Tinubu to appoint Engr. Adokiye Tombomieye, to a key position in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, citing his experience and integrity.
The group said the appointment would strengthen energy security and support the federal government’s economic development agenda at a critical time.
In a statement issued in the United States and made available to journalists in Abuja yesterday, the society’s president, Mr Sodiq Musa, said Nigeria urgently needed competent leadership to stabilise and grow the energy sector.
Musa said Tombomieye possessed exceptional technical expertise and deep operational knowledge of the oil and gas industry.
He noted that Tombomieye’s years of experience had delivered measurable results, adding that his firm grasp of sectoral challenges positioned him to drive reforms and innovation.
According to the group, Tombomieye is widely regarded as a man of integrity, transparent dealings and a strong commitment to accountability.
The society added that his leadership style, anchored on collaboration, efficiency and sustainability, aligns with global best practices required to reposition Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
It called on President Tinubu to heed the appeal, arguing that Tombomieye’s appointment would strengthen energy security and support the administration’s broader economic agenda.
The group said Nigeria was at a defining moment where visionary leadership in the oil and gas sector was essential for national progress.
It expressed confidence that appointing Tombomieye would mark a turning point for the industry and contribute significantly to the country’s economic future.
