Makinde: Retract Your Denial Or I Will Spill More Beans, Fayose Tells Atiku

Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has dared former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to debunk a press statement issued in his name on Thursday, denying a Vice Presidential deal with Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, within 48 hours or he will be forced to reveal more secrets about the plan.

Fayose, in a statement on Thursday night, said the ultimatum was borne out of respect for Atiku as failure to comply with it will lead to more startling revelations without further regard for the former Vice President.

Recall that Fayose had claimed that a private meeting between Atiku and former Military President Ibrahim Babangida on Tuesday in Minna, Niger State, was about the vice presidential ambition of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and that it will come at the cost of N10bn as contributions from the latter.

However, Atiku reacted on Thursday, denying such arrangement with Makinde, saying Fayose was a gossip who thrived on falsehood.

But, Fayose, while firing back at Atiku, has issued the ultimatum, threatening that he will unmask the facilitors and executioners of the Minna meeting and even things said about his friend and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

“I saw the response of one Paul Ibe, one of the Media Aides to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, to my release on what transpired at his (Atiku) meeting in Minna, with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and I can’t but be amused.

“However, because of my respect for Atiku, I will want to assume that he did not authorise the press statement and I will expect that after seeing it, he will within 48 hours, cause a rebuttal to be issued on it.

“Should Atiku not publicly disown the statement within the next 48 hours, I will have no option but to spill more beans (the facilitors and executioners) of the Minna meeting, particularly what was said about Wike) and by then, I will be doing so without any atom of respect for him.

“Till then, we keep our gunpowder dry,” Fayose stated.
