Vice President Kashim Shettima has held talks with the United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, on the sidelines of the African Union (AU) Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

According to a post by the VP’s spokesman, Stanley Nkwocha, on his X handle, the bilateral meeting between the Nigerian Vice President and the UN chief took place amid the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of AU Heads of State and Government.

The meeting was focused on areas of collaboration and partnership between Nigeria and the United Nations, including global economics, peace, security, sustainable development, and humanitarian concerns across the African continent.

Vice President Shettima and Guterres pledged continued and deepened partnership, just as the UN scribe acknowledged the efforts of the Nigerian government in developing its economy and its potential to emerge as the next global power from Africa.
