The National Caretaker Working Committee of PDP, backed by the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said it is fully prepared to meet all constitutional and regulatory requirements for the 2027 general election within the recently released timeline of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the election.
The national publicity secretary of the caretaker committee, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, also reassured its members, particularly those aspiring to contest elective offices, that all internal party disputes and pending litigations involving the party are being diligently pursued and are expected to be conclusively resolved well ahead of the window provided for political parties to conduct their primaries.
Recall that the Wike-backed camp has been locked in a legal battle with the Tanimu Turaki-led PDP, which enjoys the backing of the PDP governors.
But reacting to INEC’s released timetable, Mohammed urged all aspirants to remain calm, focused, prepared and be guided by subsequent directives from the party.
He said, “The PDP further reassures Nigerians of its readiness to offer Credible Leadership and a clear alternative anchored on Good Governance, Accountability, National Peace and Unity, and a Sustainable Development for our Great Nation.
“Members are therefore urged to remain actively involved, intensify grassroots mobilization, and uphold the enduring values that define our great Party.
“The Party deeply appreciates the continued loyalty and dedication of its members and supporters and encourages sustained engagement as we collectively position the PDP for success in 2027,” he said.
End.
