National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Professor Nentawe Yilwatda has allayed fears of the North ditching President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the party’s rally to receive decampees and inaugurate the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Lafia, Nasarawa State yesterday, Yilwatda said the North would reciprocate Tinubu’s transformative strides across the region by supporting his return in 2027.

He said Tinubu was investing in the North more than any leader before him, stressing, “Voting for Mr. President is the best for the North because of what he has laid, and what he is doing, and what he will do for the entire North.”

Highlighting the administration’s achievements that will endear him to northern voters, the national chairman explained that the ongoing 1,068 kilometer Sokoto-Badagry superhighway with associated dams for irrigation and electricity generation would transform the northern economy.

“We will have water for irrigation, it will provide for agriculture, electricity and also clean water. This is what Mr. President is providing in the north for us in the north.

“Mr. President is providing railways. The rail line that will run from Abuja to Kano and Niger Republic.  It simply means that we will become importers and exporters because the entire region, the entire northern part of Sudan, Burkina Faso, and Chad will rely on the North for their imports. And our rail will be the baseline,” he said.

He also said the AKK project would add to the overall economy of the region.

Also speaking, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State who also chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, urged the Renewed Ambassadors to evangelise the Tinubu administration’s programmes in their respective locations.

He noted that the Tinubu’s administration had been able to reflate the economy with inflation-eased and exchange rate stabilised.

He said that investor confidence in the Nigerian economy was back, with both FDI and Portfolio investments on the increase, with the oil and gas sector a significant beneficiary.

“The economy is being diversified, with solid minerals playing a pivotal role. The government’s liberal educational loan policy has enrolled over 700,000 students. Nigerians do not need to wait longer than one week to get a travel passport,” he added.
