Masari Presents N288.6bn Budget To Katsina Assembly

Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari has presented the 2023 proposed budget of N288.633 billion to the state House of Assembly for consideration.

Laying the budget on the floor of the House of Assembly, yesterday, Governor Masari noted that the 2023 budget is lower than that of the 2022 revised budget by N34,662,962,998.00, with 63.77 per cent  capital expenditure and 36.23 per cent recurrent expenditure.

Tagged:  “Budget of Transition” the budget is designed to complete ongoing projects and initiate other capital projects that can be completed within the life of the present administration.

“The 2023 Budget is structured with a total recurrent expenditure of N104.580 billion which is equivalent to 36.23 per cent of the total budget and capital expenditure of N184,052 billion, which is 63.77 per cent of the total budget.”

Explaining that the total amount projected to finance the 2023 Budget is the sum of N184.052 billion, comprising N62.592 billion as Internally Generated Revenues (IGR) from the State Board of Internal Revenue and other MDAs.

He affirmed that the revenue receivable through the Federation Account is estimated at the sum of N119.021 billion with an opening balance of N12.062 billion also expected to fund the budget.

While appreciating the contributions of the State Assembly, traditional rulers and other relevant stakeholders to the development of the state in the past seven years, the governor called on the people to elect APC candidates at all levels in the 2023 general election, for the continuation of the people-oriented projects, programmes and policies of his administration.
