The Nigeria Association of Auctioneers (NAA) has elected a new national executive through a peaceful process held at Villa Park Hotel, Durumi, Abuja.

The two-day event began on February 13 with the association’s annual general meeting (AGM), where the members reviewed the state of the group and assessed progress over the past year, culminating in the elections and the swearing-in of the new officers.

Engr. Isibor Benjamin Abhulimen emerged as the national president. He is joined by Dr Mohammed Abatcha as vice president; Dr Duze Lawal Mohammed Kamal as the secretary-general; Dr Ekundayo W. Balogun as the public relations officer; and Chief Taiwo Ademolu Jigan as the financial secretary.

In his acceptance speech, Abhulimen said, “This is not about victory for one individual. It is a collective triumph for the Nigeria Association of Auctioneers. There is no victor, no vanquished. Together, we must build an association that works for all.”

Abhulimen also acknowledged other contestants and urged the members to prioritise the association above personal interests:

“When we place the association above personal interest, progress becomes inevitable,” he added.

He commended the Board of Trustees (BoT), chaired by HRM Alfred Diete-Spiff, the Amanyanabo of Brass Kingdom, for their guidance, and Hajiya Salamatu Abdullahi, the chairperson of the Transition and Electoral Committee, for overseeing a peaceful contest.

A BoT member, Alhaji Musa Sule, described the elections as “a turning point for institutional strengthening and unity within the NAA.”
