Police Arrest 17 Notorious Bandits In Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has announced the arrest of 17 suspected notorious bandits terrorising the state during its major clearance operation.

The police said it dislodged bandit camps, recovered three English Al-47 rifles, seven fabricated firearms, large quantity of hard drugs.

In a statement issued by the Police spokesperson in the State, DSP Mansir Hassan, he said in its continued and renewed efforts to fight banditry and other violent crimes in the state, the command conducted a major clearance operation from February 10 to 13, 2026.

The statement noted that the operation targeted identified bandit camps and other criminal hideouts across Kajuru, Tafa, Igabi and Kauru Local Government Areas in state.

DSP Hassan explained that during the operation, several bandit camps were dislodged, while many bandits were neutralised during fierce exchange of fire.

In the same vein, suspected bandit informants, and drug suppliers linked to criminal networks were apprehended.

According to the statement, “In the course of the operation: Three English AK-47 rifles were recovered, Seven fabricated firearms, One (1) English pistol and a Large quantity hard drugs were recovered. A total of seventeen suspected notorious bandits are arrested, some with bullet wounds, equally hard drugs suppliers are amongst those arrested. During the course of clearance operations the following suspects are arrested.

“Ahamdu Bala, Abdullahi Alh. Fulani, Ado Bayero Reku, Samaila Bala, Nasiru Rabiu, Ibrahim Bello, Jafar Adamu, Nura Abdullahi, Adamu Alh. Raini, Adamu Haruna, Ado Babwuro, Shuaibu Sa’idu, Isiya Bammi alias Kire, Kabiru Adamu, Habibu Rabiu, Suleiman Adam, Abubakar Idris.”

The statement said investigation was ongoing to dismantle the wider criminal network, arrest fleeing suspects and accomplices to ensure all suspects were investigated and prosecuted accordingly.

The Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, reassured residents that sustained intelligence-led clearance operations will continue across identified black spots to rid the State of banditry, illegal arms proliferation and related crimes.

The command said it will continue to synergise with the military, DSS and other security agencies in the state to ensure safety and security of all citizens.
