Kogi State governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has commended the military for their bravery and swift response to the security challenges in the state, describing their operations as major steps toward restoring peace and stability in the affected communities.
The governor gave the commendation on Tuesday during a solidarity visit to the Maigumeri Barracks in Lokoja, headquarters of the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, to the men and officers of the command who are in the forefront of the war against insurgency in the state.
During the visit, the military authorities presented to the governor the kidnapped victims who were rescued during a recent security operation across the state.
The Brigade also displayed recovered ammunition and other items seized from suspected criminal elements during the operation.
Addressing the officers and rescued victims, Ododo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with security agencies to combat insecurity and protect life and property in the state.
