The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said a total of 1,228,648 Nigerians have completed their voter registration under Phase II of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise as of February 13, 2026.
In an update released at the end of Week Six of the exercise, the commission disclosed on its official X (formerly twitter) handle on Thursday, that 673,124 applicants completed their registration through online pre-registration, while 555,524 finalised the process through physical registration at designated centers nationwide.
INEC’s data showed that women accounted for the majority of new registrants, with 696,891 registrations representing 57 per cent of the total. Male registrants stood at 531,757, making up 43 per cent.
The commission also highlighted strong youth participation in the exercise. According to the figures, 848,066 registrants — about 69.02 per cent — fall within the 18 to 34 age bracket.
INEC further reported that 19,414 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) have successfully registered across the country during the ongoing exercise.
The CVR exercise is part of preparations for upcoming elections, with the electoral commission continuing to urge eligible Nigerians to take advantage of both the online pre-registration portal and physical registration centres before the deadline.
