Senior special assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North West), Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai, has distributed free school uniforms and exercise books to more than 600 school children in Tudun Biri community after Vice President Kashim Shettima inaugurated key infrastructure projects including a newly constructed school in the area.
Yakasai said the programme forms part of the Federal Government’s broader intervention to support families affected by the tragic drone misfire incident and to fast-track the restoration of normalcy through strategic investments in education and community development.
The distribution of the uniforms and exercise books held at the community’s primary school premises attracted parents, teachers, and community leaders who described the gesture as timely and impactful.
While addressing the gathering, Yakasai conveyed the goodwill of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the administration remains resolute in fulfilling promises made to victims of the incident.
He emphasised that education remains the most powerful tool for rebuilding lives and securing a brighter future for children in affected communities.
“Education is the greatest enabler,” he said. “It empowers children with knowledge, restores dignity to families, and lays the foundation for sustainable development. President Tinubu is committed to ensuring that no child is left behind, particularly those from vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds.
He noted that beyond infrastructure development, the provision of uniforms and learning materials is designed to remove financial barriers that often prevent children from attending school.
Yakasai said the administration of President Tinubu will continue to implement people-focused initiatives.
