Victor Osimhen has embraced his new role at Galatasaray, despite not finding the net in his last two matches for the Turkish Super Lig champions
The Nigeria international has contributed four assists in his past two games for the Yellow and Reds. His pressing and movement were pivotal in Galatasaray’s commanding 5-2 victory over Juventus in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League playoffs on Tuesday night.
Osimhen stated that his primary focus is on supporting his team. “Pressing comes naturally to me. I strive to fight for the team, and so far, it’s been going well. My pressing has led to some assists, which I consider a positive outcome. Above all, I’m delighted with the win,” he said.
Reflecting on the team’s performance, Osimhen added: “I’m very pleased with how we played as a unit. Our coach’s tactics worked, and we’ll approach the second leg in the same manner. It won’t be an easy match, but we hold the advantage. This was a crucial victory, and I thank our fans for their support.”
