King Charles III has made an appearance at London Fashion Week recently, sitting front row at Tolu Coker’s show at NewGen Space at 180 Strand, sparking conversations about the 77-year-old royalty not allowing his brother’s arrest to deter him from his official duties.

The King’s move comes just hours after he addressed the arrest of his brother, who has faced backlash over his alleged ties to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which occurred on the morning of February 19, the former Prince’s birthday.

“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office,” he said in a statement. “What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.” The statement read, adding that the royal family will continue in its duty and service to all.

At the event, King Charles was spotted in tailored grey suits. He maintained a pleasant countenance as he greeted and chatted with fellow guests and watched the display of collections intently at the British-Nigerian’s show, which featured Coker’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection. Before the event, he toured other exhibitions at the London Fashion Week hub.

After the show, Coker told the media, “I think there’s something very beautiful and powerful to be able to invite the King of England to our block. It’s a big statement of: this is London in all its colour, beauty, and glory.”

The appearance at London Fashion Week, which was planned, speaks to the King’s active interest in classic British style and support for traditional craftsmanship.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, was arrested on February 19, coinciding with his birthday, on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
