The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has said own troops arrested a terrorists’ drone supplier known as Mallam Dauda Usman Gubula, 43 other terrorists and rescued 45 kidnap victims across the country.
A statement by the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja, on Friday, said troops arrested five suspected oil thieves, three suspected drug peddlers and recovered substantial quantities of methamphetamine commonly known as “ICE” with a street value exceeding N5million.
He said troops of Operation Hadin Kai on February 19, 2026, following a tip-off on the movement of terrorist logistics in Madagali LGA of Adamawa State, arrested one Mallam Dauda Usman Gubula at Madagali Motor Park.
According to him, items recovered from the suspect included two aerial drones and 20 solar power banks. He said the troops also arrested seven other terrorists within the week in review.
In the North-West, he said troops arrested nine terrorists and rescued 26 kidnap victims.
Relatedly, in the North-Central, troops of Operation Enduring Peace, Whirl Stroke and Savannah Shield arrested 19 terrorists and rescued 15 hostages.
In the South-East, he said troops arrested eight suspected terrorists and recovered some assault rifles.
He, therefore, reaffirmed the Defence Headquarters’ commitment to the defence of the nation’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and security.
“Troops across all theatres remain resolute, professional and steadfastly guided by established rules of engagement, respect for human rights and the rule of law,” he added.
