After fans said goodbye to the American sitcom ‘Scrubs’ for over 15 years, the famous series is returning, set to premiere on Wednesday, 25 February on ABC.
Reports state that the revived sitcom, which ran for 9 seasons from 2001 to 2010, will now feature several familiar faces, including John C. McGinley as Dr Cox and Judy Reyes as Carla. The creator of the series, Bill Lawrence, is also returning as executive producer.
While its original cast will include Judy Reyes as head nurse Carla Espinosa, Zach Braff as Dr John, Donald Faison as Dr Christopher Turk, Sarah Chalke as Dr Elliot Reid, John C. McGinley as Dr Perry Cox, among others, the acclaimed series will also star a new generation of interns.
New faces to be featured in the American sitcom include Vanessa Bayer, who appeared on NBC’s sketch comedy series ‘Saturday Night Live’. She will take on the role of Sibby, Sacred Heart’s HR and wellness manager. Joel Kim Booster, who told the media in a December interview that he grew up watching the original series, is taking on the role of Dr Eric Park, an attending at Sacred Heart.
“It was syndicated everywhere when I was in high school. I definitely have seen every episode, but they’re all out of order,” Booster said, adding that it’s interesting as the series evokes “all these memories”. He also admitted, “It’s crazy to be a part of a show that I watched for so long and is so beloved too.”
