The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) yesterday said troops killed scores of terrorists, arrested 248 suspected terrorists and rescued 409 kidnap victims in February.
The director, defence media operations, Major General Michael Onoja while briefing journalists said troops also arrested 59 other criminals and 42 illegal miners.
He said troops also recovered 460 bags of fertilisers from terrorists in Yobe State.
Giving breakdown, he said troops in the North East, neutralized scores of terrorists, arrested 85 suspects, rescued 104 kidnap victims and facilitated the surrender of 46 insurgents and their families.
He said troops on 23 February 2026, intercepted a Toyota pick-up laden with vehicle spares and fabrics destined for Boko Haram, alongside a truck carrying 460)bags of fertilizers in Bade LGA of Yobe State.
Troops also arrested 42 illegal miner in Gulani LGA of Yobe State, thereby disrupting illicit activities that fund insurgency.
In the North West, he said troops killed scores of terrorists, rescued 251 kidnap victims and arrested 36 terrorists.
In the South East, troops arrested 54 members of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN)
He reaffirmed that the Armed Forces of Nigeria will sustain this momentum, consolidate hard-won gains and remain resolute in creating a secure environment that enables citizens to live, work and thrive in peace
