Bauchi Governor To Address Challenges In Health Sector, Commissions Centres

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has said his administration would try its best to overcome challenges in the health sector, especially in areas of service delivery, infrastructure and human resource.

The governor, who spoke yesterday at the   commissioning of primary health centres at the Gida-dubu Housing Estate and Fadamar-Mada community, said the two centres were among the 15 health facilities constructed by his administration this year.

He said his administration had given high priority to health since inception, and built four general hospitals and 15 primary health centres in addition to renovating and equipping secondary and primary health facilities across the state with the support of EU-UNICEF and NSHIP.

He appreciated development partners for their support, saying the state government had redeemed its counterpart obligations 100 percent and reiterated continuous commitment to the partnership.

Governor Bala Mohammed urged benefitting communities to patronise the facilities and promised that his administration would not relent in devising policies for the overall wellbeing of the populace, especially women and children.

The commissioner for health, Dr Sabi’u Abdu Gwalabe, joined the communities of Gida-dubu and Fadaman Mada to appreciate Governor Mohammed for making their decades long dreams a reality, adding that the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Primary Health Care Development Agency had identified experienced health professionals and already posted to serve in the facilities.
