Michael B. Jordan has won the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role at the 2026 Actor Awards held yesterday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The 39-year-old actor received the honour for his performance in Sinners, adding another milestone to his career.
During his acceptance speech, Jordan paid tribute to his mother, Donna Jordan, acknowledging her sacrifices during his early years in the industry.
“Mom, thank you for driving me back and forth to New York when we didn’t have enough money for gas or parking, and for supporting me through auditions,” he said
He also recognised director Ryan Coogler, who helmed Sinners and earned an Oscar nomination for the project.
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to show what I can do and to create a safe space for us to find the truth,” Jordan said.
The actor further expressed gratitude to his co-stars, including Wunmi Mosaku, Hailee Steinfeld, Delroy Lindo and Miles Caton, commending their dedication and vulnerability.
“You lent us your talents, time, and vulnerability,” he noted.
Jordan also acknowledged his fellow nominees Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke and Jesse Plemons, describing the nomination alongside them as an honour.
“I’m so honored to be nominated alongside actors I love. This ride has been unbelievable,” he added.
The Actor Awards ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium drew prominent industry figures and celebrated outstanding performances across film and television.
